No stress. Michele Allinotte does it all.

6:00 a.m.

I check my phone before I get out of bed to make sure no emergencies have arisen overnight and to confirm my schedule for the day.  If it’s early enough, I do a quick session of yoga.  As a single mom, I can’t really get to the gym or out for a run in the mornings.

After my shower and whatever primping I have time for, I  to make school lunches and have breakfast, which is often a smoothie or scrambled eggs that my daughter likes to make for me in the microwave.

Music is on. It can change the mood when everyone is a bit grumpy and stressed out.

8 a.m.

I drop my son off at my parents’ house so his bus can pick him up, and then drop my daughter off at school and head to my office to arrive just before 8:30 a.m.

9 a.m. is the earliest client appointment I will take. Wednesdays and Thursdays are usually heavy client appointment days, and I try to triage things in between.

Noon

I often eat lunch at my desk, but living in Cornwall where nothing is very far away, can also head home for lunch. It gives me some time to tidy the kitchen or throw on a load of laundry.

2 p.m.

I’m at the office, unless I need to take my kids to appointments. I rely on my iPhone to keep in touch with my staff and keep things moving. I use TeamViewer to log in to my desktop and network at work on my iPhone.

4 p.m.

I normally leave the office at 4:00 p.m. to pick up my children, bringing work home to do after they’re in bed at 8:30 p.m.  On days that I don’t have them, I will stay much later (sometimes until 11 p.m.).

10 p.m.

I end up doing house work or watching Netflix before I head to bed, ideally around 10:00 p.m., but often a bit later. Eight hours sleep is ideal for me.
